(Above) This is a leather Army Air Corp. cadet flight helmet worn by Cadet Leonard Herman. In early 1942, Mr.
Herman entered flight training at King City Primary Training School, King City, California. During this time, Herman
was flying PT-16 Ryans. After being injured while playing volleyball, Mr. Herman missed two weeks of training and
was transferred into bombardier training. Mr. Herman went on to fly 25 missions with the 95th Bomb Group in
1943. He completed a full tour of duty as a B-17 bombardier and was credited with shooting down two FW-190's!
He was awarded the Air Medal with three oak leaf clusters, a Purple Heart and the Distinguished Flying Cross. Mr.
Herman is currently being considered for a belated Medal of Honor for his actions during WWII. This flight helmet
came directly from his living estate and is displayed with an early model of Skyway goggles with amber lenses, all
original. Also pictured above is a photo of Herman and his crew, original WWII 95th B.G. hand-painted patch.
(L to R) Army Air Corp. Cadet visor cap
with original marked device, an unusual
variation of a cadet visor cap, the body of the
cap being a lighter blue with a royal blue
band and Air Corp. Cadet device. I believe
this to be an early war Air Corp. visor or a
private flight instructor cap with Air Corp.
device. If anyone has any additional
information, please feel free to contact me. I
would appreciate it.

This is a small representation of the American portion of my collection. My collection also includes a large number of autographed photos, personal letters and various
autographed items from American Aces from all branches of service. I generally obtained two autographed photos from each ace I was fortunate enough to meet, so I
have a number of photos available for sale or trade. I also have a number of framed prints autographed by American and German aces. See my "Items for Sale/Trade"
page for additional information.
Don't forget to check out the items for sale and trade page! Original WWII items and autographed items!

items. Enjoy.
